One of the most special things about our property is that Chad and I got engaged in the backyard and then married there 6 months later on New Year's Eve 2023. After looking at many options including other venues in Payson, we decided that we couldn't pass up the opportunity to make it happen on our own property even in the dead of winter and searched out the best wedding vendors to provide all of the things we couldn't DIY:
- Cake and cupcakes: Creative Cakes by Cindy Campbell
- I found Cindy through Facebook after she posted in a local group and have found no better looking and tasting cake or cupcakes in my life. She invited me to her home in Payson for a consultation and meticulously took notes of all of the details I wanted on flavors, icing decor, delivery and setup. Months later on the day of the wedding, she delivered quite the spread that looked like I spent a fortune. Not only were her cupcake bouquets so beautiful some guests didn't realize they were edible, but once we all dug into the cake I knew I'd never find a better tasting cake in my life. I requested an almond cake alongside a mix of almond cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes. She knocked it out of the park, and I still reach out to her for a dozen cupcakes her and there just because. My freezer always has one of her creations ready to defrost and enjoy!
- Cindy can be reached via message on Facebook or by calling 928-951-6433
- What I spent: $190 for 4 cupcake bouquets (28 cupcakes) and a 6-in extra tall cutting cake
- Catering: Gila Hogs BBQ
- We wanted a buffet style option for our wedding where the food would be crowd-pleasing and unlike most wedding food. Gila Hogs literally delivered. Although they offer a full food truck option on premises as well as served catering, we opted for drop off catering. The owner delivered pulled pork, brisket, and mac and cheese that ranks in the top BBQ many of my guests said they've ever had. The day after the wedding, the owner came by to collect a chafing dish he kindly loaned me at no charge, and I couldn't thank him enough. Paired with my homemade cornbread and coleslaw, dinner was a home run.
- What I spent: $400 for brisket, pulled pork, and mac and cheese for 60 guests with enough leftovers to last quite a while.
- Party Rentals: Rockin' B Rentals
- Due to the winter setting for our wedding, we opted for an tent to accommodate a dinner party. Rockin' B Rentals delivered and set up a 20'X30' tent in our side yard and dropped off 60 chairs and a few cocktail tables for our guests. Not only were they very friendly on the phone, but their delivery guys exceeded my expectations. Post-wedding they showed up right on the scheduled time to disassemble and haul away.
- What I spent: $650 for a tent, 3 cocktail tables, and 60 chairs. I provided my own 6' tables but they offer a large menu for whatever supplies you need.
- Photography: Bobbie-Anne Jordan
- As a photographer myself, I have had the pleasure of shooting weddings in Sedona and am very particular about photographers and their style. Bobbie-Anne was a true professional and exactly what I was looking for. Not only is her booking process and communication top-notch, but she delivered exactly the photo gallery we talked about. She even traveled from Phoenix with no travel fee to accommodate my unique needs. Although there were a handful of photographers to choose from, I knew this was the one thing I didn't want to risk. Bobbie-Anne blended into the scene seamlessly and was super easy to work with throughout the whole process, especially on wedding day. I couldn't me more happy with her level of service and deliverables.
- What I spent: $1300 including a discount she gave me to fill an open spot in her calendar.
- Venue: Eagle's Nest Payson
- We are hoping to offer our property in the near future for micro weddings, but for now we offer impeccable lodging for your family and friends who may need a place to stay.
- Shameless plug: I also do wedding photography, so if Bobbie-Anne is not available or you want to check out my website, I'm also available :)
